This is the City Hall MRT Station (NS25, EW13) which is an interchange station of both the North-South Line and the East-West Line (both operated by SMRT Corporation).
This underground station is located on North Bridge Road and near to Bras Basah Road, Beach Road and Stamford Road. It is at the doorstep of the Raffles City shopping complex, and possibly considered to be the very heart of the city centre. Not surprising then that this station is one of the biggest, deepest and busiest stops of two of Singapore's major mass rapid transit lines.
This is the station to alight for visiting the War Memorial Park, the Padang and St. Andrew's Cathedral. For shopping, the nearby malls include Suntec City (via the subterranean CityLink Mall), Marina Square shopping mall, Bras Basah Complex (books and arts & crafts supplies), Peninsula Plaza (cameras and photographic equipment supplies), Peninsula Shopping Centre (shoes), Funan Centre (IT and electronics gadgets shopping).
Singapore's iconic Raffles Hotel is located at the start of Beach Road, a minute's walk from City Hall MRT Station.
For entertainment, the Esplanade (Theatres by the Bay) provides performances and eating galore. For even more drinking and dining options, check out The Chijmes complex nearby. The F1 (September 2008) Formula One races will be held in this part of the city [remember to bookmark our website and check back for updates].
