Map of Tanjong Rhu Road, Singapore Indoor Stadium, Stadium Walk/Crescent, Geylang River and Kg Arang Road in Singapore

This map shows the Tanjong Rhu residential area and the National Stadium / Singapore Indoor Stadium area off Nicoll Highway. The hockey-stick-shaped body of water curving across the map is the Geylang River. The river flows into the Kallang Basin (and further to the Marina Bay) off the left edge of the map.

The long Tanjong Rhu Road traverses east-west across the lower section of the map. The surroundings here are mostly condominiums and private residential apartments. A notable landmark is the Singapore Swimming Club - a private members' sports/social club. Another establishment here is the Dunman High School. The school has temporarily relocated to the former RJC premises in Mount Sinai Road in the west of Singapore, but is expected to move back here in 2009 after re-building works are completed.

In the top-left corner of the map are Kampong Arang Road, Sampan Place and Jalan Batu, where some old HDB apartment blocks are located.

North of the Geylang river, is the hub site of the Singapore National Stadium. The old stadium itself, located off the top edge of the map, is closed for demolishment. The Singapore Indoor Stadium (SIS) is situated near the river banks close to the left edge of the map (near Carpark E). The roads around the area are, unsurprisingly, named Stadium Walk, Stadium Crescent and Stadium Boulevard. Jalan Benaan Kapal runs parallel to the river edge northeast towards Mountbatten Road.

Part of the East Coast Parkway (ECP) expressway can be seen at the bottom edge of the map. The eastern direction leads to the city centre with just a few minutes of driving.
