This map shows a mostly HDB public housing area (Geylang Bahru, St George's Road, St George's Lane, Whampoa East and Whampoa West). Pockets of private housing (landed terrace / apartments / condominiums) and low-rise shophouses can also be found near the top-left corner of the map, near Whampoa South, St Michael's Road, Jalan/Jln Semerbak, St Francis Road, Jalan Taman and St Barnabas Lane (zoom-in to see these streets).

The major trunk roads seen in this map are Serangoon Road, Bendemeer Road and Kallang Bahru. The body of water seen cutting across the centre of the map is Kallang River(canal).

The Boon Keng MRT Station (NE9 of the North-East Line) is located at the bottom-left corner of the map.

The Kallang Bahru Industrial Estate is centred around Kallang Bahru road. Industrial flatted buildings and factories can be found in this area, often near the Kallang River.
