The body of water shown in this map consists of the Kallang River on the right and the smaller Rochor River on the left. On both sides of the Kallang River are public parks.

To the right of the Kallang River, after Nicoll Highway, are Stadium Road and Stadium Link roads. Stadium Road leads to the National/Indoor Stadium area.

To the left of the map, left of Crawford Street and Lavender Street, is a mix of HDB public housing apartments and low-rise commercial/office buildings/shophouses. Roads in this part are King George's Avenue, Penhas Road, Jellicoe Road and North Bridge Road.

Near the left edge of the map, is the underground subway Lavender MRT Station (EW11 of the East-West Line). The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) Headquarters (HQ) building complex is located above and next to the station, at one corner of the junction of Kallang Road and Crawford Street. The ICA currently handles matters relating to identity card (NRIC) registration, passport issuance/renewal and visa application/renewal for citizens, permanent residents and foreigners/visitors.
